Telefund Leadership

Dan Martin
Lead Assistant Director, Los Angeles Call Center

In January 2004, I joined Telefund as a caller in Denver, Colorado. There, I discovered a knack and a passion for progressive cause fundraising. I found the work tremendously engaging; my energy and excitement level would actually increase as the day progressed. My skill level as a caller was quickly identified, and in a short span of time I became a trainer. I shared my enthusiasm and commitment for calling with new recruits, and was quickly promoted to a junior supervisor position, where I honed a team of committed callers into a more effective fundraising force.

In August of 2004, I flew out to Los Angeles to head the training program for callers in our new office. Initially, I was planning on returning to my Denver home, but that plan changed once I began fulfilling the role of Assistant Director. In January of 2005, I took over the Directorship of the LA office. I am excited to guide my team of supervisors and callers, helping them achieve the best possible results for our country’s progressive organizations.

Prior to joining the Telefund team, I worked as an HIV prevention educator with several non-profit organizations in northern Idaho and Denver, Colorado. Seven years of experience speaking publicly, leading group discusions, and working in individual case management prepared me to face the challenges of creating a solid fundraising staff here in LA. When I walk into the office each morning, I know I am making a difference in our nation.
